My passion for photography was ignited when I was a teenager growing up in Marietta, Georgia. I learned how to operate my first manual SLR camera and was immediately hooked, and found myself spending most of my time either taking pictures or developing them in the darkroom.
Drawn to the breathtaking panoramas of the Northeast, I attended Bennington College in Vermont for their fine art photography program. Four years later, in 2001, I left with a B.A. in photography and my first foray into the realm of professional wedding photography. Through Bennington's internship program I had been able to work for two months at Swing Studio in Atlanta, an enlightening experience. Eager to learn more, I continued my education with apprenticeships in Providence and Sacramento. Since then, I have had the privilege of photographing weddings across the country, from California to Maine.
It is always an honor when a couple chooses me to photograph their wedding day. Each wedding is a unique event, though all are joined by the sense of joy and love. This presents a particularly enjoyable photographic palette. I focus on capturing the candid moments, with as many traditional portraits of family and friends as the couple needs. I try to be as unobtrusive as possible, never choreographing moments, but recording the day with a natural approach. I love weddings and it shows in the results I bring my clients. All the detailed vignettes add up to tell the story of their special day. Through photographing weddings I have benefited from being able to visit areas of New England (and beyond) that I would never before have seen. From the cliffs of Maine to cozy inns in Vermont, whether your wedding is a large, traditional affair, or an intimate gathering in a natural setting, I am always eager to shoot in a new location, and am able to adapt my style to your needs.
