Plimoth Patuxet Wedding || Josh and Alaina
What a busy and wonderful wedding season it's been! It's been a little while since I've blogged a full wedding post, and I couldn't think of a better way to start than with Alaina and Josh's picture-perfect, love-filled wedding at Plimoth Patuxet. We started with some getting ready photos (of both the guys and girls) at the Hilton Garden Inn, then went to the Hornblower Gardens for the first look before the ceremony. Everything was just so perfect!
Ceremony: Hornblower Gardens, Plimoth Patuxet, Plymouth, MA
Reception: Outdoor tent at Plimoth Patuxet
The italicized excerpts below are from the bride herself, Alaina.
Please enjoy all the wonderful details from this amazing Plimoth Patuxet wedding!
How did the day start? Well I had 4 hours of sleep so I was running on pure excitement. My bridesmaids and I had coffee and muffins (later turning into mimosas and lunch) in the bridal suit that morning while beginning hair and makeup. Josh had lunch with his groomsmen and went back to his best mans room to get ready.
We were able to get so many photos done beforehand since they did a first look, and the Hornblower Gardens at Plimoth Patuxet were a beautiful backdrop.
What a gorgeous wedding party! And I love how they had two shades of pink.
How did you feel during the ceremony? I was surprisingly okay during the ceremony. It was before it when I heard Canon in D and watching my bridesmaids walk down the garden steps that I got emotional. My dad was crying too which didn't help my tears. During the ceremony I was just giddy and so happy.
Our goal of the wedding was to have everyone feel our love and feel loved in return. We wanted everyone to enjoy themselves and just have a great celebration. I made sure our guests knew how much we appreciated them through the program thank you's and little tokens throughout the wedding. I wanted the wedding to be as personal as possible. The ceremony was the most important part for us because it was there we said our I Dos. Where we became one. It was so perfect.
After the ceremony, we did a few more photos near the barn and then the couple was able to enjoy their cocktail hour and see all of their guests. The reception was in the tent, right there on the water, such a beautiful location.
We were doing some photos next to the barn, and this little guy (or gal?) decided to come over and say hello.
The staff at Plimoth Patuxet always do such an amazing job! The tent was gorgeous and I love all the details.
A bit of an emotional first dance... from Alaina: Dancing with Josh for the first time was so much fun. It was so surreal, we have never felt closer.
What were your first reactions to the photos? Oh we loved them!!!! They came out so beautiful! We praise you for capturing such amazing moments especially during our ceremony. We didn't even notice you take them!
No, this was not posed! I love capturing little moments in-between like this.
The party was awesome, we barely left the dance floor, same with the guests. The food and drink was great, everything was just a dream. I would agree, a perfect day!
What is one suggestion you have for other couples who are planning their weddings? My one suggestion would be not to sweat the small things. Leading up to the wedding I thought I would notice if something went wrong or if something wasn't set up right, but you really don't. Just relax and enjoy your day because you only have it once.
