Shawn and Ryley had been dreaming of their wedding day for many years. High school sweethearts, they were determined to get married on the anniversary of their first date, even though it was going to be a Thursday in the year 2020. We did their engagement session in 2019 and we talked about all their beautiful plans for their Red Barn at Outlook Farm wedding. Of course, those plans had to be drastically changed with everything that happened… But they were still determined. They would not postpone the day they had so long been dreaming of, and they were still going to get married on that Thursday! Of course, with a much smaller guest list, and no reception, but still we all planned on the gorgeous day they would have.

And yes, it was truly a gorgeous and amazing day! Just one thing - the wind! The wind was absolutely incredible that day. Combine that with the fact that it was a chillier October day… Oh my gosh, when I tell you my fingers were numb by the time I put my camera away that evening. Whoo! But Ryley and Shawn just went with it. The event coordinator drove us all around in her little golf cart around the Red Barn at Outlook Farm to get some amazing shots. Ryley started the day with a long veil, which almost flew right off her head during the vows. We got a few photos with it, but since it kept swirling all around she finally let the event coordinator take it out of her hair. I’ll say one thing, high winds make for some very dramatic photos!

All the while they were laughing and smiling, cuddling together to keep warm and having an absolute blast.

This wind was amazing! We got so many dramatic photos because the wind was swirling around us the whole time. We were all freezing by the end, but I think it was worth it!
