Guest photos

In the old days of film, “table shots” were pretty standard - this was a way to make sure we got photos of each guest at your wedding. I would go around to each table and ask if they’d like to have their photo taken - sometimes I’d get a photo of the whole table, or just whoever wants to be in it. Nowadays, I do a combination of table shots as well as candid photos. I typically do not want to disturb your guests while they are eating, or when the dining staff are clearing tables or bringing food. So, I find my moments and get in there when I can. Otherwise, I love to get photos of you going around to each table (mostly candid, but if you want posed ones, just let me know in the moment). And of course I’ll be capturing candids of the guests enjoying themselves throughout the day (while arriving to the ceremony, during cocktail hour, dinner and dancing). If you really want a photo of a specific person or table, please let me know in the info form I’ll be sending you before the wedding.

Side note - In the past year or so, I’ve noticed a new trend - the “table dash” or “photo dash” - I’ve done a couple of these so far, and they generally work out pretty well! (Especially if you really want a photo of the two of you with all of your guests)

At some point in the evening (before dancing starts) - your DJ will announce that the couple is going to go around to each table for a photo, and we try to do it within the length of a song or two. Usually the guests really get into it, jump up and are ready for the photo when you come around.
